Yes, it was originally created for a Dallas Cowboyz fan, obviously. And yes, that's a spoon in the "headstock".
    Let's see your cool/unique/crazy lapsteels!

That is awesome! but isn't that more technically a diddley-bo?

Yeah, I have one, too, with a pickup on it. Only thing is it's at my office, where I haven't been in a year . . .

Yes, more or less. It's a lap diddley bo vs. the more guitar like ones that are held upright. It's also played more percussively, using a stick, pocket knife or the like. The paint can resonator variation came from Eddie "One String" Jones.

Here is the antithesis - Ben Harper's new John Monteleone archtop lap guitar. Check out the "top hat" built into the neck

Here's my "Pedalap steel"......totally handmade. Ash body, bender mechanism is my own design based on the Bigsby Palm Pedal and the Hipshot B/G bender. Tuners and pickup are from GFS. This is the fourth one of these that I've made--changes have been made to the bender mechanism along the way. Notice that it's set up so you can swing the arms out of the way if you want to play it as a conventional lap. It nicely emulates the sound of a pedal steel, and you don't have to be a very good player (I'm not) to make it work.

Maybe not super interesting and a bit more traditional. But here's my early 60s Supro. Tons of fun and has the original case and warranty card! Also has the odd, horseshoe pickup. Sounds great through my twin.

Maybe not interesting but here’s my old Magnatone.

And here’s a video of a guy playing a similar guitar. Mine must broken though, cause I can’t quite get it to do this....

I used to have the double-neck version of that one with the case, the four legs, the whole enchilada! That's a way-cool lap!!

I know the feeling. I think all of my guitars might be broken. And most of the amps. And the pedals. Tuner might be OK but even that is suspect, according to my wife and daughter.

I currently have two laps; I string them with flats. Both sound amazing through little ratty amps.
