What the... who did this car? Was it a Toyo-sponsored project? Sure don't look like a Singer.
You Porsche guys should check out Singer Vehicle Design... it's owned by Rob Dickinson, lead singer and guitarist for The Catherine Wheel.
He loves Porsches so much that he dissolved the band and started the company.
Nice cars... but I wish he would go back to music. Incredible band.
How weird is that? We both post about Singer at the exact same time... creepy.
Woah! I still would love to own one of his long nose models. Oh yes.
Rob is a cool guy... very personable. Gladly signed a few things for me... There are rumors of a CW reunion, I hope they are true.
I had a red '96 N/A Miata for about 10 yrs. Bought it used. Truly a bulletproof delight. I went thru tires like candy. Top down in 10F (with earmuffs), top up but rear zipped down in 100F. A/C worked fine...rarely used it.
I honestly don’t remember where I found those pics
Looks like someone is going to have
to get an IMSA track for their toys.
I had an AH Sprite that looked just like this one.
I got it new in 1966, picked up at the dock and drove it home. (long story...)
I was sixteen years old and in tall cotton!
Four wheel fun-fun-fun.
Owned cars like these - 1986 Mercedes Benz 450 SL (2007-2016) and 2004 Mustang 40th Anniversary (2004-2007). Benz had about 91,000 miles on it when sold.
I used to have one of those! I loved that thing. I got orders overseas and sold it. I should have dropped it off at my Dad’s house instead.
It's still Winter here.
I saw Rob open (just himself, acoustic guitar) for The Church, two performances within about ten days of one another.
And Rob joined them on stage for part of one of those shows. 2007? Something like that.
Technically a motorcycle, but my wife can drive it so a pretty good compromise.
Love those things, my brother had a TR 250 in the early 80's it was a blast. It put roadster fever in my head and now I have this lowly 97 Miata. They are common I know but cheap enough and reliable enough for me. It is great fun to drive, makes the right sounds. The engine is shot though, burns oil at a staggering rate. It will get a new one one day though
And, I didn't see this while posting the above but this is what my brother's TR 250 ( US spec TR 5 with carbs instead of fuel injection) looked like. The TR 6 front end is more refined but I like the character of the headlight bulges on the hood.
Those things are all over down here near the Tail of the Dragon.
Here's my top down winter look for my 97 Miata
