New client just bought an older house. Not historic but old
Previous owner died, what remaining family didn’t want to so they sold it. It needs SERIOUS work. All kinds of stuff around the property
Here’s a horse drawn carriage in disrepair it is believed from the 1930s. The other is a copper pot used in the conversion of cane to sugar

Most everything else I saw was junk.
    Most of it fairly modern

Fires in Willow Creek, CA. When the fires start, we often have to turn off the power. Before we can turn it back on, my department has to send guys out to patrol the lines and make sure there are no wires down or limbs or trees on the lines that may start another fire when we energize the lines.

I've been on this very line many times when there was no fire and it's really pretty. But the smoke was very thick and it limited how far you can see.

We have crews that go out and spray the poles with fire retardant. It's red. We only spray to around the bottom third or middle of the height of the pole. That's usually where they burn.

I still can't figure out how to get a decent photo of what the sun looks like through all the smoke. My lungs have taken a beating over the last four days. The overtime pays well.

I'm managing twelve contractor inspectors. Best gig I ever had.

    We really need rain.

Good luck! We're almost down to 200 active fires in BC [checking ... 211]. It was over 300 after the heat dome. The White Rock Lake fire near 24 track, which started in July, has finally been downgraded to "under control".

Water filter delivered to my grim apartment, Kinshasa, Zaire (now DRC) 1993. Clearly modelled after The Leaning Tower of Pisa! I was too amused to send it back and it worked anyway.
It must have been a really bad Monday morning or Friday afternoon for the cutting crew.

Visiting a small town in the community where I grew up, we were driving to the end of a one-way street, which led us up the levee. We drove on the levee for a block and took a right to get off the levee.

Behind the "Share the road" sign was a vehicle blocking our way. My sister-in-law managed to drive the car around the blockage, somehow.

Is this a good place to park? (note the excessive seagull poop)
