I dont know...
This is it.
It's as though FG's place is the Island of Misfit Toys, or a no-kill shelter, mixed w/ a rehab center/spa.
When I am re-incarnated as a First Act guitar, I hope I get to meet her.

Is there a difference between their lower cost vs the highest priced stuff like the Boardwalk 335 Clone ???
Who knows. I think that my Fireflys and Grote are way above this brand.
Would I be bummed if I spent $129 for a Monoprice Strat and got this quality?
Basically I got a Body and a Neck.
And the neck is what we'll look at next.
The Tuners are the $15 ones off of the net.
Same with the $15 Bridge.
Here is what a slightly drunken Fendergyrl was thinking when I bought this...
I put a $35 set of Guitar Madness pickups into a 1986 Heritage H-140. Sounds great.
I got a Red Kill Swich.
I have a set of Guitar Madness Ceramic High Output Blade Pups.
And some White Speed Knobs.
Let's use a Bone Nut Blank and see if the frets are seated.
Yes...that's good news.
Fret Rocker time:
Not too bad.
Will survive a Fret Level.
That's good news again.
The Nut is decent for now.
Neck Truss Rod:
The neck actually pretty straight.
The neck is a keeper.
Just needs TLC.
That's all for now.
If you want a Project to learn on....
If you find one Very Cheap...
If you want to use up some parts from your stash...
I recommend Firefly for your Mod Projects.
I would stay away from Monoprice.
If the neck was Gooched on this one...
It would be a Slide Guitar at best.
I'll post Updates to this thread.
All posts are welcome..
Pro or Con Monoprice.
I feel lucky to have dodged a bullet on this one.
Interesting. Darrel Braun on YouTube raves about the Indio Strat he got from them. I guess there are some good ones and some bad ones.
I love monoprice for some things but was always leery about their guitars. I got one of their little 5 watt tube amps on sale and it’s fun for playing with mods. With a better speaker it doesn’t sound bad at all.
On a non guitar note they have pretty good quality cables in long lengths, like 50 ft hdmi or 15 ft Bluetooth antenna extension cable.
Thanks for the review! Glad I wasn’t missing out staying away from their guitars. Also entertaining as always.
Guitar Madness PUPS are a blast.
I drop them into my projects for variety.
The 1984s are unique.
The 25 Calibers are ZZTop IMHO.
The Dirty Digits are kind of cool..
They are Generic Dirty Fingers.
Their Alnico 2s and 5s are my favorites.
The P94s are awesome when wired up with Guitar Fetish 300 Overload Pots and an Oil in Paper 047 Cap.
Dragonfire PUPs Texas Special A2s...
Well worth the money,
As are their Brown Sound PUPS.
They raised their prices so I mostly buy Guitar Madness PUPS for my rehabs.
I will buy their stuff when it's on sale.
Yeah...I saw those Vids too...
Like I said...all Posts welcome
Thanx for the input.
Ya never know what you'll get.
I bought Fireflys that were good to go outta the box. And I bought some as Open Boxes that were in bad shape.
But I got them dirt cheap.
I guess I would say that if you bought one of these for a kid just starting out, or as a Christmas Gift....
Look it over and give it some TLC before you gift it.
And this one...It'll Rock when I'm finished with it...but I couldn't play it with the fret ends as bad as they are... and they are Really Bad..
Isn’t that in the Buckethead vein, with the red momentary switch kill button?
That neck non-pocket is... interesting. Does the neck's heel sit against the pickup's metal frame, or do the neck screws do all the work of holding the neck in place?
