My 2019 50s Les Paul..
I have the P90 version. Pretty sweet guitars
As someone else had pointed out, the carved top really pops with the gold top.
I have three. For those that have 2 or more Les Pauls, other than one having humbuckers and one a P-90, why? I'll probably get slagged for this but what is the difference then? I get having multiple strats like different pickups, hard tail or vibrato bar, HH configuration, etc. But why on Les Pauls?
I love the top guitar. The reason I ask is that I just bought a 2019 Les Paul 50s Standard. I always wanted my friend's guitar that is a 2000 Standard. There is a 1999 Standard locally and I thought about checking it out. I'm not sure what the difference will be other than maybe the neck. I'm trying to justify having two unless I like the 1999 better and then maybe selling the 2019.I have three.
The Custom is bright sounding, compared to the R8.
The R6 has Duncan CS Alnico V’s, which are great, clear sounding single coils.
The guitars truly sound different from each other, though they are strung and set up similarly.
They all have D’Addarrio XL Medium (11-49).

Gorgeous! My 1979 Les Paul Custom. Bought it new and is my only Gibson. It's my #1 stage guitar. View attachment 1077626
Mine cost me $600 with the case. Now they go for $5000. I sure as hell couldn't afford one now.Gorgeous!
My “dream guitar” is a real 1968 “Black Beauty” LP Custom.
It was the first LP I ever played, and belonged to a friend who actually didn't like it.
This was 1972, BTW.
My friend had a modified 56 Special, stripped and humbucker-ized that suited him better.
He loaned me the Custom, and I’ve coveted one ever since.
My first Paul, a 68 gold top cost me $350, in 1973.Mine cost me $600 with the case. Now they go for $5000. I sure as hell couldn't afford one now.
I have a '19 50's Std and no way am I ever selling that one. It plays and sounds like that's guitar I always meant to have. My '16 Trad is a keeper too. Same chunky neck that my overworked hands love and sweet 57 Classics. And yes I'd buy another LP but with different pickups just for varietyI love the top guitar. I like mine except the G string going out of tune. I ordered nut sauce. After that it will be locking tuners and if that don't work I'll try one of those do dads that go on the headstock to center the strings more. If that don't work in nailing or welding the string.I have a '19 50's Std and no way am I ever selling that one. It plays and sounds like that's guitar I always meant to have. My buddy with the 2001 is coming over tomorrow to compare. I just remembered that it was so easy to bend strings. Mind you I have been playing Fenders all my life except for two Les Pauls that I had briefly.
I agree 100%I have the P90 version. Pretty sweet guitars
It is early 2022. Date on the pre-pack checklist is 2/22/22As someone else had pointed out, the carved top really pops with the gold top.
What year is it?
I have one guitar with P90's, a Hamer Special, and it rocks. My first Paul, a 68 gold top cost me $350, in 1973.
Customs at the time were about $500.
My gold top had P90s.
I’ve never liked em’, still don’t.
I refinished mine (by the great Ed Claxton), and added humbuckers.
The Custom would have been my preferred guitar.
Live and learn.
Wow. I mean... WOW! What a beauty! Being no LP (or Gibson) 'specialist', may I ask what is the name of this finish?
