I got one of the Epiphone Les Paul Special 2020, the setup stinked out of the box, but the intenation was OK.

But 30 minutes later it is a fantastic guitar, sounds, feels and play great.

Second cleaning / string change since I got mine. Nicely polished frets.

New R8. First guitar I feel comfortable saying is a lifetimer. Had to sell something rare to do it, but no regrets at all. 20210218_185653.jpg 20210218_185846.jpg 20210218_185908.jpg

I saw this in your NGD thread. You have a great looking guitar. What are your impressions of it? I was definitely attracted to the R8 b/c of the neck and plain tops.

Definitely the big chunky 50’s neck is number one. The PAF Burstbuckers, the vintage hardware, hand-wired components, the one piece back, the 10 lbs weight (like a Les Paul should), and great quality feel.

Lots of sustain, nice low action, and warm tone. These Historic guitars just feel different and in a good way.

This is my second R8 and I’ve owned two R7’s. Hopefully this one is a keeper.

Did I post this here before?
It's a custom build so, no serial number.
    I'm guessing it's around a 1995 production era .............
Came to me with no pickups so, I installed the double whites. ;)

I've got three Gibson Les Paul's, but no pics now as I'm at work.

1- a '79 cherry sunburst Les Paul Standard that's bone stock. Yes, the Norlin era that weighs 11.8 lbs, but it plays so well, I don't notice it

2- a '99 cherry red Les Paul double-cutaway Jr with Duncan Hot Baby humbuckers(I replaced the original P-100's that sucked out loud. Light as a feather.

3- an '06 arctic white(I think that's what the color is called) Les Paul Studio with ebony fretboard and a set of Duncan gold JB and '59 Plus humbuckers and gold Gotoh locking tuners.

    Lovely guitars, all three!
