Not sure if this qualifies as a proper Les Paul but it's mine and I like it. Les Paul Special 11.
My patience was rewarded yesterday when I bought a mint condition one locally, in vintage sunburst. My purchase included the guitar, Epiphone practice amp, gig bag, strap and stand and was a great deal. My 3rd of these over the years. They're simply great guitars for the money and now all I need is an ES339 or Casino Coupe for 'the set'. :)

2016 Traditional, Iced Tea Burst, SD Antiquities, also got rid of the green tuners and added an aluminum stoptail and amber knobs.

Update. I replaced the stock Lollar Imperials in my Collings CL with a pair of ThrōBak SLE-101s. Oh, wow... This is the sound in my head. The Lollars were too polite. The ThrōBaks are gorgeous clean, but with a bit of breakup, they get real throaty and full. I love this guitar even more now.

Thought I should update this post, since I forgot it was here. This is the final iteration.

Changed out practically everything but the lacquer, to the following ...
Faber locking hardware with aluminum tailpiece.
Fishman Fluence Classic Humbuckers and electronics.
    Kluson Revolutions tuners.
    Straplocks.

Also, notice that the actual color is quite different than the Sweetwater pics. Par for the course. This is now my L. P. for life. Nothing fancier has caught my fancy, since I got this one. It's perfect for me.

Soooo.... shortly after getting (and totally falling in love with) the 60s honeyburst mentioned above, I began to start the ol' "... if I sold this and that and traded another..." again to try and find one of the older 50s LPs with P90s.

Ended up selling my pristine 60s CAR Baja and my mid 90s MIA Pro Junior on Reverb for tidy profit (if that's really possible?) and immediately found exactly what I was hoping to find, this '10 50s LP below. Wow, best sounding P90 guitar I've ever had the pleasure of owning. Slightly relic'd. Weighs barely over 7 lbs and that neck! Very impressive.

After all the wheelin' & dealin', I feel like I'm done for a while. Got some keepers, for sure. 2 Gibson LPs (50s & 60s.) 2 Fender Teles (Roadworn 50s & AV64) and an awesome CVC partscaster to fill out the bunch, always in open G. Love it when a plan comes together as this one did.

I’d love to own a Gibson, but that’s not happening anytime in the near future. I do fell like I have the next best thing. Bought this beauty last year, and she’s is one fiery little monster. Midnight Sapphire 1960 Tribute. For true Gibson tone I think these are the best value on the market buying new. Love the neck profile on these. I did have to open it up and bend back the clip in the jack that holds the plug (I’m no good with part names) but other than that it’s been perfect. I expected way worse from an epiphone and I’m kinda ashamed to say that. If only they would’ve used the headstock from the customs instead of the big ugly boat paddle looking thing. No, that is the limited edition wine red blues junior with CRex speaker and sparkle mod. I don’t know much about the Humboldt, but I think they may have some similarities?

I love this amp! It’s a demon when I want it to be, but can also be really smooth and sweet with a twist of a knob. And to my ears it can get just low enough for bedroom practice, but JUST barely. Literally there’s no sound until about 1/16” under “2”, and it’s getting kinda loud at about 1/8” above lol. Sounds great with my Tele, breakup or clean. And my Epi LP with Gibson 57’s is just a badass companion to this amp, it really shines.

This is my Les Paul that I built when I went to Luthiery School a while back. it has the Les Paul body with SG control layout with the jack on top of the body. it also has a 25" scale and 24 frets with tone pros locking tom and string thru body. It has an SD 59 in the neck and JB in the bridge and a 3 way mini toggle for each for series/split/parallel. Gave it a nice beefy neck profile and it's a blast to play...
