I just developed GAS looking at it.
Keith Richards used a single coil extensively last time he played live here.

You had to do that. I had one just like it, TV Yellow, except it had a black guard, if I recall.
Great guitar. Played a lot of gigs with it.
I don't really regret getting rid of it. I traded it for a '74 DR. I'd rather have the amp...

That's beautiful. Just bought myself a Epiphone SG Jnr (1996) so I can enjoy some P90 tones. Not quite the same league as the above though.

These are rad, and that one looks nicely broken in. I just wish they had neck binding, but I'm picky.

I've always had a spot for a double cut special with P90s. I've looked at the faded ones but never liked the open grain finish on the neck. But that one is nicely relic'ed and you got me thinking....

Two things about the finish on the neck. I wasn't crazy about it at first and buffed it with some 0000 steel wool. Smoothed it out nicely. And the more I played it, the nicer the neck felt. So I wouldn't let that stop me from getting one.

Aww man, you just had to do this. I've been GASsing for one for years. If I buy another electric guitar, it will be the Special or a double cut, TV yellow single p-90 Junior. I just have too much GAS for other stuff right now to keep me from doing it, but, but, dang ... GAS building up again.

Hahaha! Sorry! Yeah, this gem has always been a sleeper guitar for me, but it has come out of the cage much more lately than my tele.

Actually has a neat story. I had been looking for one of those 1 p90 SG juniors and really gassing for one or one of the Jr double cuts or single cuts. I called several places and looked online- no luck (this was before the 2015 reissue lp jrs).

As a last resort, I got up really early one Saturday morning after I had been selling some stuff off and saving cash for a new guitar and I jetted to the closest guitar center. I got there right at opening and noticed there was a couple of guys in some big SUVs waiting for the store to open. Something in my gut told me to go right up to the door a minute before opening just for some reason...

The GC employee unlocked the door and I walked right in and asked him "hey, do you know of an lp Jr or SG Jr I could get my hands on?" Guy said no, they had been out of production for a couple of years.

Let down, I decided to just take a quick gander at the used wall... I had driven all that way so early...

It was as if the heavens opened and a ray of light shined on this worn, yellow old gal with p90s. My hands went straight for it. I took it down, plugged it into a trri and I was immediately intreagued.

15 minutes later, the same guy who answered my question earlier asked: "hey man, are you going to buy that guitar- there are 2 guys here that had called in asking about it and a third is on the phone right now!!!" I glanced over at this blushing guy looking sheepishly at me with the guitar paced back and forth. I said "yup, I'm buying it". I literally walked past this guy as he was waiting for the store to open.

When I was making the deal (which was a pretty amazing one I might add). The other guy stormed out saying "thank you, I already have enough les pauls anyway." This is my first, even after 22 years of playing.

True story.
