    wow, guess it could be true... but for five grand I don't know if I would be willing to risk it.

    I guess it's possible, but the cynic in me says a partscaster with some cool mods is a safer bet. If it could be backed up with some actual evidence that Fender experimented with this stuff then - well, maybe - but at the moment it's a guitar shop guy's tall tail and the fact it looks like a pro job (which doesn't really mean anything other than whoever did the mod knew how to do a pro job).

    With a lot of good photos, including neck pocket and cavity, I might be a bit more curious but at the moment I lean towards the most likely explanation is probably the right one.

    Selling thru someone like Carter's, Gruhn etc would help the, is it real factor.

    Oh who knows? But, if true, I'm surprised by the unevenly spaced nut. I can't stand unevenly spaced nuts.
