Can I just reverse the lugs to make it work or be as effective as the right way? My new mods will be a 3 way toggle, YJM 500 volume pot and Seymour Trembucker and Quarter pound neck. Thank you

This gets to a question I always had about left-handed guitars.

Is there a standard when it comes to control rotation?

On the one hand, why should it be any different than righty controls? Clockwise is turning it up, counterclockwise is turning it down.

On the other hand, is it common that the controls are implemented in reverse since it's hard to volume-swell with the left hand on a righty pot?

Anyway. To answer OP. The taper probably won't be right if you reverse the lugs, unless the pot is either linear or reverse-log-taper to begin with.
