I am considering selling my near mint 1975 lefty Telecaster natural. It is a very heavy guitar. Can anyone tell me what price range I should ask?

    TIA,
    DJ

I would think $1500 give or take a couple hundred depending on all the stuff we care about or don't care about.

9lbs is heavy, but not horribly so.

You should check completed eBay listings with the advanced search function to get the best idea of its value. I'm thinking $1750-$2000 as it appears to be in excellent condition and looks totally original. I think the fact that lefties are in short supply also boosts the value a little.

    Good luck selling it.

Oh man, 9 lbs is way too heavy! Tell ya what...I'll do you a favor & take it off your hands for a steal. Always wanted a birth year guitar too :)

I do appreciate your consideration. My ES-335 weighs nearly as much too. Guess I'll just play sitting down.

Wow I thought they were bringing closer to $3000 in condition like that. Three piece body but the middle is a nice wide plank. I don't get the whole weight concern. Looks like the neck might have some chubbiness too.

I checked eBay and they are running $2500-3000. The neck is not at all clubby on this one. The weight doesn't bother me but it is a pound or two more than the average. I may talk myself out of selling it. I am the original owner.

They were bringing $3K maybe 10 years ago but the market has softened recently.

Still, it looks like a very nice example.

If you're patient, you can probably get north of 2500 for it. I'd post it for 3k and wait for the right lefty to come along.
