Thought I would share this guitar with y'all, if anyone is interested... I had some parts that I either found on the sidewalk or parts I never used that were starting to clutter up the shop, so I decided to turn them into a guitar. The body is western red cedar boards that were left over from home depot, neck wood is poplar that I pulled from the trash at work, the single humbucker came out of an old BC Rich that I found on the sidewalk. Everything else came out of the parts bin. It's definitely light weight and the pickup sounds ok (helped with a clean boost). Turned out ok but I suck at cutting nuts... It's a bone nut but I think I need to invest in some good nut files... Anyway, here are some pics[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

It does take practice to get good at cutting a nut! Seriously though, if you are going to attempt it, do yourself a favor and buy the right files. It's hard enough to get them right anyway.

Not sure that I am on board with the Poplar neck. But, otherwise, really cool.

You get parts off your sidewalk?... that only happened to me when I throw stuff away and then decide I need it ;)

    Looks awesome!

Yeah, I get it... the neck is not bad though and it should look better once the color starts to brown

Yeah... I was looking out my garage at my old place and noticed that someone had thrown out an old BC Rich Warlock or something... You know, one of those really pointy models... So I grabbed it and harvested the parts I thought I could use. So far its just been the pickup. Unfortunately the wrap around bridge was already missing...
