All-time singing couple? Who ya got?
If they gotta be a real couple, I'm stumped after Cash/Carter and Jones/Wynette.
But I have a hard time thinking of two folks who sound better together, platonic or otherwise:
Jack Blanchard and Misty Morgan are mostly forgotten, remembered perhaps for their novelty hit, Tennessee Birdwalk. But this is the one that I liked 45 years ago:
Chuck Berry and Yoko Ono
Well, if you're Canadian.
Ella and Louis:
Emmylou Harris is such a ghost that she can give just about any voice great dimension. Her work on Dylan's Desire is gorgeous. And she always matches well with a dry, droll singer like Don Williams here:
Bob Dylan and Joan Baez together still kills me.
I won’t even mention what songs in fear I may choke up and melt in a pool of sorrow for all who are gone.
Tom Petty & Stevie Nicks' timbres meshed really well together, IMO.
Paul and Paula
I guess I didn’t realize that was Emmylou on Desire?
She does kill it in any company.
Loved these two together.
They came immediately to mind but I skipped them for the extreme pop thing.
They pretty much had world domination in their hands for a while.
Phil and Don. Best R&R voices ever.
Buddy & Julie Miller!
A couple as in a pair of humans?
Hard to choose between Louvin Brothers and Everly Brothers.
Dolly and any man lucky enough to sing with her.
