Mork’s from Ork’s maybe?
I’m with you on the tort. I’m active on the offset forums and everyone loves a good tort with their jag/jazzmaster. Me? No thank you. Just black or white guards for me.
Awesome looking if you’re slim, pretty, standing up, in your 20s and have a following already.
But dudes my age playing sitting down with it straddling their legs seem like they should be practicing while on the toilet.
In a guitar store I go straight to check out the Teiecasters on the wall, ignore everything else, the Gibson’s, Gretschs etc.
Not fussed with Les Pauls, ugly ugly in my book, the Strat doesn’t do it for me nor does any ES335 or SG type guitar. But it is just personal preference.
Guess I just like Telecasters.
As for color, I don’t do sunburst anything, or black or cherry, or fluorescent or sparkle finishes.
My guitars are a roadworn blonde, a butterscotch blonde, an Olympic white and a sea foam green telly. That will do me.
If my wife ever decides to gift me a guitar, I’m sending her shopping with you. But I might be down with an orange sparkle. I do have a gold sparkle Epi sorrento that I just had restored after years of being banged up.
Honestly, the Tele...especially in butterscotch blonde. It is just about the most bland, uninspiring combination I've ever seen. Any of the pastel pinks, greens, and blues are out with the rare exception, as is anything at all beige or paisley. Neon colors like that Ibanez on the first page are out as well. Outside of that, I'm open to just about anything on a case by case basis.
There are so many ugly guitars out there that I can't just pick one to rule them all.
I cant pick one. The many versions of this below don't do much for me. There are uglier guitars out there but these go for quite high prices which doesn't make sense to me.
I did play the first green jem when it first came out and it played fantastic.
I hate the shape of SGs
As for color I hate gold tops
I love Gretsches but I really can’t get into the famous White Falcon. And I’m not a big fan of gold colored hardware on dark colored guitars. Too blingy.
As for shape, anything super angular and pointy, with the Warlock being the worst I can think of. Childhood friend had a hot pink one in about 1987.
I feel like whoever plays that is good at D&D, can recite Lord of the Rings lines at will, and probably has a dog or cat with at least a three-syllable name. Probably super fun to hang out with until he/she gets control of the car stereo. Also plays better than me by a mile. Talks like a wizard to the waitress at Olive Garden.
I don't understand this guitar. It's supposed to be a Non-reverse Firebird, but it's not the opposite of a Firebird. It looks like the body got all soft and out of shape, and I find the headstock just odd. I also hate sunburst finishes.
..O-KAY, so you don't like Tele's of any color. That's fine with me. Personally, I prefer Strats, but do like Tele's but not some of the colors. I like sunburst Strats', but not sunburst Teles..my perogative. I don't like blue, but Seafoam Green is the bomb. To each his own.
This is a weird one for me. I like the concept and look of the Fly, but when I play one, the top cutaway corner digs into my sternum. It's the only painful guitar I've ever encountered.
Even a good player looks like a **** playing one of these things.
This reminds me of an iridescent beetle attached to a guitar neck
least favorite shape would be the SG, and the Firebird..
least favorite color combo now is a Banana Yellow tele with Maple neck.. There's a few BSB colors I really like, the light shade that's more white, and the Blackguard look that seems like it has little orange tint in it.. anything in the middle of that, I really dont like!
If you entered a dog show and attended with this equivalent of this:
You'd get arrested.
I felt the same way for the longest time.
Then, somehow, watching this over and over again, sort of changed my mind.
