Can anyone explain to me what "lead dress" means?
It's a skirt or pullover (jumper?) made from a really heavy metal that is impervious to X-rays.
The devil made me do it. "Lead dress" refers to the arrangement of connecting wires in a PTP (point-to-point wiring, as opposed to printed circuitboard, or PCB) amplifier. When it's done right, using proper grounding techniques, twisted pairs, shielding and right-angle crossings of signal paths, it will reduce the amount of noise generated by the amplifier, such as hum, oscillation, and RFI.
I had it coming!
I guess I walked right into that one.
Anyway, thanks for your informative answer!
Just happened to have some pics from another thread.
