Hey, y'all. I'm new to the community and I can't tell you how helpful this has been. I'm building my first tele kit and I'm in the wiring phase. The manufacturer shorted the length of the neck pickup wires so I have to splice. My question is, what do I need to get? Are leads and grounds the same material? I haven't found any difference, so if I get a decent length of one type will it serve both purposes? Obviously I would mark one to distinguish from the other. Thanks!

You can use the same type of wire for pickup leads and ground wires. I'd suggest getting a couple lengths of the same type of wire with different jacket/covering colors.
