I bought one of these for Mom a year back. She's 95, but it is for others to use there.(me for 1). I like it. Folds down small enough to place in a car. I found this at lowes looking it up just now.
I believe you "train" them to stay within borders.
Respectfully disagree. We were gifted a corded mower when our gas mower failed due to insufficient maintenence. It cut the grass fine, but making sure I didn't trip or cut the cord by running it over was a much bigger hassle than charging the battery has been. We didn't even have a tree or ornamental plants then, I would hate to go around those with a cord. And boy, you want to find a spot you missed, just coil up your extension cord, you'll see it 30 seconds later. OK that last one is on me, but I found cord management in general pretty annoying. If it's a small yard, get a corded electric 18" rotary. They're small, light in weight, and powerful. The cord is not a problem once you get used to managing it. No need to charge batteries.
I have now owned 2 Kobalt mowers (lost the first one in a split from a domestic partner), and both have been great. The batteries charge fairly quickly (definitely faster than the Ego blower I also lost in the separation).Well, there are finally signs that spring might be coming to this corner of the Great White North. And I am going to need a lawnmower.
My lawn is quite small. But there is grass which I am supposedly not to allow to grow more than 4 inches tall. Those are the rules and I agreed to them despite some of them being fairly ridiculous. But anyhow.
Lawnmowers. I don’t want gas. So just a little plain push thingey. Or perhaps one with battery assist. Things to look out for. Recommended brands? Ones to avoid?
Thanks all!
Cheers,
Geoff

That mirrors my experience as well. I recommend EGO, but they aren't going to be the cheapest.Reel mowers suck. I bought an expensive one once and used it for about half a mowing season. If you want to cut your grass every three days they’re ok.
