I have not been this excited about a new movie in a few years now. Count me in, but I'll have to drive 90 miles each way on icy, snowy roads to see it.

    Final Star Wars?!

LOL - Disney will run it into the ground.

My work pays for us to go watch star wars as team building.

After first final star wars I was like eh... this re-run is kind of predictable.
After second final star wars I was like bleh... it's too stupid to sit through again.
I'm going to skip my free ticket for the third final star wars.

    (I Skipped Solo too)

:( I still love the original not digitally remastered star wars trilogy on my VHS.

So it ends with C3PO the Broken sitting on the emperors throne?

I can see you are judging me - is that because I typed LOL?

I guess ultimately you are right for calling me out on that mistruth.

You may have revealed something there young man. DID YOU WATCH THE PATRIOTS annihilate the Jets last night? Because that's where the latest trailer was shown. :D My son and I will be there for sure! I don't care if they keep making Star Wars movies until I croak in fact I hope they do. I'll watch them no matter what anyone says good of bad.

Geez, I knew this would bring out the haters, but this one looks more like the original trilogy. I am hopeful.

P.S. I kinda trolled knowing full well, "final" would keep the thread alive. Talk about predictable.:lol:

It's amazing how great the original one looks, The newer ones look worse every year.

God!!..CGI should be getting better every year... Why does it seem to get WORSE??

I was going to have a look at the new Midway movie...until I saw the trailers, Just AWFUL looking CGI, Like...so awful, The original King Kong effects look well done by comparison.

Haaa, nope, just saw it on the internet news. Watching football ended when Bill Walsh retired, which ended the era of creative strategic football.;)

I don't care to see whatever trainwreck of a movie JJ Abrams has created.

I think it isn't the tech, it is the people making the film... when people have real vision (and a decent budget) they insist on elements that make it look amazing... when they are grinding out a project, it just doesn't matter...

Agreed. Not a fan of over doing CGI either, but the original Stars Wars experience was partially due to the fantastic advanced CGI technology ... at the time ... 1977.

I'm in! I've made too much of an investment since 1977 not to see it through.

Yes, Disney will continue to push new content out based on the Star Wars universe and it will probably disappoint.

I'll absolutely NEVER forgive Lucas over the midichlorians. NEVER, I say! He took the Force away from "nurture" (something within), and gave it to "nature" - just a genetic mutation.
But I'm all in for this. And expect to be disappointed.

The force could have never been from within. As Obi Wan Kenobi said, "it's all around us." It's something real that flows all around us that you LEARN to control. The force can dwell within you, as it was strong, maybe strongest in Vader, but it's not JUST from within. It's mostly horseshilt, but in a good kind of way.

I guess when you boil it right down, those who are strong with the force just have a blood condition. Do you CARE enough to donate to the eradication of the midichlorians? Once and for all we could get rid of the force and be done with it. Midichlorians are often passed on as a weak runny stool in those who have a problem with them. Next time you see an old fellow with a bullseye on his cargoes, just think he may be eradicating midichlorians, so just leave him be.

I will probably see it with a buddy of mine who adores Star Wars. I like Star Wars just fine but not to the same degree. I actually appreciated the deconstruction The Last Jedi did with a lot of the series formula and how many holes it was willing to poke in the inflated expectations of the ravenous internet crowd. Unfortunately JJ Abrams doesn’t have the best track record as a director, in my opinion, so I’m somewhat afraid this one will be as much of a slavish retread of the formula as Force Awakens was. Maybe they’ll toss yet another Death Star type weapon our way this time too.
