Today I bought a custom-built "Franky" (modeled after Eddie's axe the way it was in '82).

I just pulled the trigger on a 3/4 scale Bass for the kids in the primary school rock band.... :)

I got them a full sized P type bass cheaply a few years back... though, I've been noticing at practice the young bass player squirming under it's "not so heavy" weight... and length... I've even suggested he sit down at practice...

OK, time to move..... I think they need a short scale bass for the younger boys.. and girls.. who might gravitate to the school rock band.... as a civic donation..:)

129 clams, courier delivered .. a small price to pay for the future of Bass playing... :)

This is so cool, man. It's also a great way of dealing with GAS without any of the associated guilt ;-)

I'm retired off with back issues.... at school, I was the side drummer in the marching bands... lugging a big heavy old steel/chrome thing....
after marching/playing in many a parade..... I wonder if my back issues started pretty young...

I don't have my own kids... these young guitar kids.. are my kids.... :)

the small school up the road from me teaches all the kids music from gr1.. on marimbas/wooden xylophones they built themselves with wooden tuned slats and PVC pipe resonators... skate board wheels for dongers....

    they're GOOD....

and now they have a small rock band crew.... I'm the crusty old roady...:)

the other guy, who teaches/arranges them... is Peter Koppes... lead guitarist from the Church...

I don't mind "giving back" "paying forward"... with our local/future rock stars...;)

A V-Tech mic for my birthday, yesterday. Tried it out the vocals aren't any worse than they were before.

A used, but new-to-me, mint 2013 Gibson Special Custom SG in Renault Blue. I've had two Renault cars in this color, so I just had to get it. I missed picking it up new, but I managed to score an immaculate used one. It comes stock with Gibson 'Dirty Fingers' pups - really great rock pickups, really hot - along with all the usual SG goodness. :D
