There is already a thread for Laney owners... but the Lionheart series is a different breed of amplifier. :)

If you're a one-amp type of guy like myself, buy one of these, and you won't have to worry about shopping for amps anymore.

My L5T112 is the perfect amp for me. Two very usable channels: sweet, slightly dirty cleans and beautiful saturated overdrive tones.

5 watts of single ended Class A goodness = AWESOME sound at low volume, but even sweeter when cranked!

I gigged a 20 watt Lionheart head through a Marshall 4x10 cab a few years ago (back when the Lionheart series debuted I think?) and fell in love.

If you've never had an opportunity to try one out, I highly recommend.

Ah well, this forum has given rise to speaker gas.....
I have made up a few single 12s

    So options are
Greenback, Vintage 30 are tried and true.
The GB gives a great bluesbreaker tone, V30 more on the rock side....as to be expected.

    Untried are
I recently got an jensen alnico retro style, not big bell, not sure of the model..
An old EV 12 out of a music man from early 80's...need light cab to put it in as it weighs a ton.

Had our first full volume rehearsal with my new band. We're a 4-piece (2 guits, bass, drums) and we're not quiet. Other guitarist plays a sweet Gretsch (not sure of the model?) through a HR Deluxe. Me, my 05 Mexi Standard with Callahan bridge/saddles and GFS Vintage alnico pickup through my 5 watt Lionheart.

I had volume less than half on both channels, no problem at all cutting through.

I will be gigging this sweetheart of an amp in less than 60 days, and it will be the sweetest tone I've ever had.

    LIONHEART RULES!!

    :)

    Time for resurrection :)

Got one of these earlier this week, loving it. Anyone have any settings (clean or dirty) that work well with strats they would recommend? Seems like there are a lot of mids on tap, gets quite honky above noon imo.

Did you notice a big difference between the two amps? I find my 20 to be a very compressed sounding amp. Does the 5watter sing sweeter?

Just joined. Bought a Lionheart L5 Studio Head today. Set it up with a 110 Legend 10516. First impressions are good. Love the clean channel and drive channel equally. Great for home use at .1 watt. Nice to crank and use the guitar to clean it up. Might have ended the search at last.

OK. Not quite. Thought it was alla bit bright using a US voiced speaker, so swapped out to Celestion Ten 30 I had lying around and things sounding pretty sweet. Selling the Eminence and might buy a WGS green beret 10. Also got a full set of JJ power and preamp tubes that could possibly improve things even further. Is the Green Beret a good choice?????

Just ordered TAD EL84 and a TAD 12ax7 mullard for V2. Got an immediate reply from Laney to say that they will match the amp perfectly as it was designed with TADs in mind. Shame it was shipped with a mix of Ruby's and TADs then...
