    dear all,

thanks for checking in. kind of a weird question, but I'm getting more and more into "unfancy" vintage amps.

has anyone of you ever seen this amp? maybe can remember it? not the best picture ... but the color, and it seems to be some kind of twin design. two channels, several inputs ...etc.

maybe one of you has even played one of these, or seen one. it's around 1992-93 ...

    thanks for help
    all the best
    michael

Good eye. I think that is a Randall Commander (II). Can't really tell if it's a head or a cab, but they were available in both forms. He was also known to use Sunn amps, so maybe it's one of those.

EDIT: Beat me to it. :)

...playing what looks like a Standel guitar through it. Or perhaps a Mosrite or copy of one.

Univox Hi-Flyer, I bet. He loved those, and bought up (and smashed) any that he could find for a while.

He certainly wasn't a tube snob! Volume and reliability were it.

in those days ... no question of a tube snob. no money for ****

later I guess he tried all kinds of stuff, and I guess his image of a "not concerned about my gear" guy is a misconception ... he simply didn't give a damn about music store offers and guitar world marketing
