Maybe the buyer thought he/she was bidding on a Klon “Gold Horsie” Centaur!

I believe the ds-1 in my helix is modelled from that very one.

So the next time someone tells you boss pedals are cheap and indestructible you just direct them here.

I thought Nirvana was a breath of fresh air and some of those songs still rock today without sounding dated and overwrought to me.

But I do not understand wanting to own Kurt Cobain’s gear. I think The Nirvana magic did not reside in the guitar gear. Which was probably heavily dented and puked on.

I thought he used the turbo version of the DS-1. I could be wrong.

I thought he used a Turbo, too. To be fair, I don't really care one way or the other. 9 grand is dumb.

Interestingly, that Martin acoustic that Cobain used to own sold for around 2 million more than David Gilmour's black strat, the previous record holder, and that strat was used on countless Floyd albums and concerts - my thinking was that it should have sold for more than the Martin, then I started thinking this: as influential as that strat was to guitarists, Floyd fans, and fans of classic rock, Nirvana might have been far more influential to rock music in general, overall. You'd be hard-pressed to find a Floyd influence in any of today's rock music, but the Nirvana sound changed rock music forever and even current rock contains elements of Nirvana. Pink Floyd lasted for decades and far more albums than Nirvana, but they didn't change the direction of music. And as far as I can tell, Floyd's fan base was more of a niche audience compared to other bands in the rock world, whereas Nirvana's fan base was basically everyone in the universe under the age of 30 at the time.

I'd still pay $20 to hear the new owner play Smoke On The Water thru it, on a single string, with one finger. PS - my Boss pedal cracked in the same place too.
