So here is my kind of new Squier Tele Deluxe, with the less-than-stellar humbuckers replaced with Tonerider pseudo P90s. Pseudo because they are basically humbucker-shaped single coil pickups marketed as a replacement for real P90s. I actually think they sound pretty good but that’s neither here nor there, because this post is about … knobs!

What manner of knobs (shape, color, material, etc.) do you guys think would look good on this guitar? A sort of brownish/burgundy paint job with a bright white pickguard. Rosewood fretboard. Yada yada yada.

So that’s the main question. Secondarily, would an upgraded bridge be in order, and would there be any appreciable difference in tone, sustain, etc?

Thanks for your opinions, my friends, and have a happy hump day!

You need some violet knobs!
Rosewood knobs would tie in the neck, but I find them rather slick to operate.
Plain white knobs for a monochromatic look would be good on the pickguard. Taking the approach of NOT enhancing the knobs and more blending in.

My favorites are black witch-hat amp knobs. You will likely need to buy the little brass sleeves to convert the shafts to "solid" shafts. But I also like the cream Mustang knobs. You could have the best of both worlds by putting one style on the Vs and another style on the Ts.

But I agree, perhaps brown cupcake or Bakelite knobs would be best.

Just being funny, but who knows you might like them.

I liked the dice idea.

For a more traditional look I think it would look good with the typical chrome knurled tele knobs or maybe the fender blackface amp knobs with the 1-10 markers.

Or maybe you could shape something out of a rosewood dowel to match the fretboard....

I would keep the bridge. Changing it would make no appreciable tonal difference. I would use standard Tele knobs...keep the chrome thing going on.

Nobody makes 'em - but I think tiny little vise-grip wrenches attached to the pot shafts with the handles sticking into the air would look cool.

Nice looking guitar!
Were the original knobs black witch hats, WrayGun?
Didn't like them?
Just wondering, I thought they looked OK...
