He's such a kool kat and killer guitarist. Love his rock n roll playing the most.
Kid...is the man!
Love The Kid's tone.....you can never have 'too much treble'.
Some of the best blues playing I've ever heard. Is Kid Ramos and Hollywood fats backing up the James Harman band
'Strictly Live in '85' is the recording
What an amazing singer/harp player and band. Really locked in!
Right after Hollywood Fats left the band.
I loved his tenure with the Fabulous Thunderbirds—in fact, outside of the early “Jimmie” years, I think the Kid Ramos years are the best lineup of the band...
I also love his solo stuff and his Mexicali stuff with Los Fabulocos...
Thanks for posting!
Got to see James and Co., in MD in the mid-'90's. Woweeeee!!!!!
* I was in a wannabe Chicago blues-style band like this for a few years and I had a hoot learning to play this kind of music, backing a harp-playing singer frontman.
We weren't bad but sure NOT The James Harman Band or Kid Ramos!
Me too... this is a pretty strong case for an Esquire.
Same here. Heard him play with the T-Birds at a ribfest in Indianapolis and he was great. Like you, my preference is the Jimmie years, but the Kid years are better than the subsequent lineups.
The only exceptions are specific songs when Duke Robilard was in the band.
I love it when the kid lays into jump blues
Kid Ramos is a monster player. The real deal.
My fave track of his
Love his first solo record. Just him & that Esquire on some of the trax.
