Anyone been listening to Khruangbin? Not usually my type of music, as an old guy, but I really like this.

Yes, they're definitely different. Hope you get into their story and background. I LOVE their "stripped down, minimalist" approach. Amazingly, they are as good or even better live than on record. I hear people rave about Laura Lee's beauty and exotic looks, (which is all true) but her bass lines are just incredible.
To answer your question.....I too am a fan.

I dig them. I saw a rig rundown with them- very interesting approach. For example, the guitar player's wah-wah is an always on pedal.

They're pretty good, I caught them supporting Father John Misty a few years back and ended up picking up their debut release on the strength of it.

    local heroes. love 'em.

this cut sounds more like their beginnings, and not just because it was on their first album.

a sort of 6 minute contemplation.

their music is kind of an international exploration, which - surprisingly for some - is quite common for Houston.

Houston is getting to be quite interesting-- lots of cultures mixing together, possibly enhanced by absolutely zero zoning whatsoever. I can imagine a lot of interesting music coming out of Houston....
