I really like Ken Fischer's article, The Trainwreck Pages, so I spent a crap load of time putting the original poor quality scanned PDF file through optical character recognition (OCR) and a bunch of editing to create high quality versions of his article. The html version is here on this page but you can also download these versions:

Download the Trainwreck Microsoft Word DOC file
Download the Trainwreck Libre Office Open Document Format ODT file
Download the cleaned up and searchable Trainwreck PDF file

Thanks Rob. It's nice to have a digital version for when I don't have access to the Weber book. Great job!

I just started a TW express type build so I will add this to my research documentation. Appreciate the efforts Rob!

There's very little Trainwreck amp info in those pages. They mostly cover generic Marshall stuff.

I was just reading about Trainwrecks when I saw this post. Had to look up the the schematics, but the similarities are striking. Trainwreck is to AB165 Bassman as Matchless is to Vox Top Boost?

mccabe, I have never compared the DC-30 to the AC-30 TB....but I might think the AB165 and the TW Express are more similar than are those other two amps??? I'll take a look. The first time I saw an EXpress Schematic, it hit me. I like an AB165 BAssman. I have never had the pleasure of playing through an Express...just a clone.
IT is interesting, isn't it, that two iconic amplifiers are clones of Fender Bassman amps?? The real Marshall is cloned from the 5F6A, and the Express seems to be an electron brother of that AB165 Normal ch? Since the AB165 was 'in play' before CBS got to put their fingers in the pie, I guess we have to thank Leo and Co. for a lot in the world of guitar amplification. ..there....understatement of the day, right?

Anybody know what's on the first 18 pages that no document seems to include?

    Thanks, Robrob!

It's my understanding The Trainwreck Pages are a compilation of magazine articles by Ken and someone scanned them into a graphic (non searchable) PDF file. It looks like the page numbers were stamped on by the PDF maker. I googled around and couldn't find any info but maybe the first 18 pages are articles from other authors.
