She had apparently been battling breast cancer for a couple of years. 57 years old, such a shame.

She was a lovely lady and one of my favorite actors, although not as mainstream or prolific as some. She, much like Rita Wilson, would show up occasionally and just nail her role. RIP.

What you said about her acting was spot on. Very sad. I’m a fan of Travolta so I’m feeling a bit for him too.

That’s sad and waaaay too young. RIP

I don’t know if this is a good movie or not because I have no objectivity about it, but I love it. Our local boy Sam Raimi directed it , Costner is actually decent in it, he pitches for the Tigers, and Kelly Preston is so gorgeous in it, you’d probably walk off the mound for her if you were pitching a perfect game...

I haven't seen her in enough films to know if I like her as an actor, but she was a human being and it is always sad to read of someone's loss. Rest In Peace, Ms. Preston. Condolences to family and friends.

Pretty woman, gone way too soon.

The memorial that her daughter posted speaks volumes as to what kind of human and mother she was. Being a parent is the most important thing in my life and she seems as if she was a good one. RIP, lovely woman.

In an article I read this AM she sounded like a real sweetheart and good Mom. Forgot they had lost a son some years ago, this has got to be devastating for the family. RIP.

I saw this this AM, hadn't really thought of her in a while. Mike's posting of For Love of the Game was a pretty good film, and she was funny in Twins. I also had forgotten they had lost a son a few years back. Sorry for her family's loss. R.I.P. :(

She was a fav. Funny, i associate her in the same class as rita wilson too. Understated, and not desparate for roles and attention, yet stunning.

Her movie Mischief holds an important role in my adolescence. I always enjoyed her acting in everything I have seen her in.

    May she rest in peace.

Yes. Buckley is the stepmother. Hyland only did four episodes before she was forced to drop out, so it's almost like she didn't exist.

On a side note, Buckley sings the lead on my favorite song on the soundtrack to the 1979 big screen adaptation of the musical "Hair." She comes in at the 1:48 min. mark, looking like a young Vietnamese woman. ;)

I've been thinking about all her movies since this morning, I had forgotten so many of them including some mentioned above.

One worth watching includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, and Mike Myers. It's called View From The Top, about flight attendants. Not much heavy drama, as you can imagine, but it was a very pleasant film IIRC.
