Cool guitar. Relicing seems to be the latest fad and this one is real. As for the Keith story, that's all it is. He might be right or the salesman was making a pitch on a notoriously poor selling finish. Nobody really knows.

I don't think Paisley would suit Keith. Brad Paisley- yeah ,okay.
Keith used to get guitars thrown at him by firms in the 80's so their sales would go up if he used them.
I think KR has settled with some great old guitars for his live performances and they are worked for particular songs. He has two great Les Paul jr's. ( single and double cut) that he has added to his live performance guitars.
He may have owned it, but did he ever use it?

Why does the ‘62 Strat neckplate he mentions have the CBS style “F” on it?

Genuinely curious; didn’t think they used that until later in the ‘65 or later.

Seller states he "never had a day job." I wonder if he ever kept a dollar past sunset?

I'm fine with old guitars with some genuinely earned wear, like the 66 in my avatar. But this just makes me feel like throwing up:confused:.

Seller appears to be Jeff White (Tropical Studios of Daytona Beach), who has evidently been around the horn a time or two. No doubt the guitar has that 'natural relic' look!

You could probably use it as a nicotine patch if you held it to your bare skin...

That's a good question. I didn't notice it because I'm still trying to reconcile 10 grand and the guitars condition.

Anyways a 62 strat would have a serial number around 76275 to say 91000. This is an F plate with serial number 223128. The F plate was introduced in mid 65 starting in the 100,000's. The really odd thing about his statement "If you do a serial number search you will find the number on my neck plate is of a "1962 Strat' apparently Seymour wasn't that concerned at the time when he re-assembled this guitar and somewhere there's a 62 Strat he had, with my Tele neck plate." is that given the serial number and the fact that it's an F plate it is plausible that it's original to the guitar. whereas his story is impossible.

If I see Seymour around I'll bother him with made up stories on the internet.

It doesn't come of as dishonest. I could believe that this guy believes the Keith Richards thing.

But that is an insane price. That guitar is wrecked.

I kinda like it. Not sure I'd want to own it. Definitely not at that price.
