    Hello,

I recently have found a new interest in the Keeley white sands overdrive pedal. From what I’ve read its basically a low gain tube screamer with asymmetrical clipping. But I want to know more. Its a great sounding pedal! Does anyone know of any mods that can be done to a tube screamer or tube screamer type pedal that can achieve something close to the white sands?

i have had one on my board of a couple of years now and it has been my go to OD. i run it on the hotter side, in front of a slap back or trem pedal. i play mostly clean (ish) and the WS really adds just a bit of grit and edge without coloring the signal much at all. Love this pedal

I thought Boss held the patent for Asymmetrical clipping. Of course, it has probably expired at this point.

I so very much do not need another drive pedal, but I really like the sounds I've heard on the clips of this

How does this compare to a BOSS BD-2, I wonder? It seems like a similar concept...
