With all due respect Ironwolf..3000 a day moving to Florida ..it's not Florida.. it's everyone coming in..I'm with you.. that's just not right...take him down..
Just for a reality check. In about 1970 I played at a popular club in Seattle a lot. They had a Deputy who worked at the door. I talked with him some, he seemed like a nice guy. He actually pulled out of his pocket and showed me a film can with drugs that he told me was for planting on someone. Nothing new I guess..
Yes... FL is the 3rd most populated state and I don't think they are counting the "snowbirds."
I've spent over 2+ years there. I've seen the traffic grow to epic proportions. People everywhere...
They are generally pretty nice (they want your $$$, I think).
But, it is a peninsula and can only hold, and take, so much.
And, FL is a refuge for a lot of different types of peeps (i.e the weather, sun, beaches, boats, fishing, etc.).
Some good people... some not so good.
What a s-bag.
...& when the suits come thick & fast who pays the most? The taxpayers.
You know what sifts/sinks to the bottom...
I read that article.
Stuff like that scares the crap out of me.
Unethical police? Definitely not a Florida exclusive.
And in Chicago some LEOS plant guns or other weapons to justify shootings of unarmed suspects.
For awhile shortly after Colorado legalized marijuana border states were stopping cars with CO. tags on phony beefs to search for drugs that would lead to asset forfeiture.
Bad cops can be a problem most anywhere they choose to be unless we break the code of silence among them that often protect them. In the FL. case that was done.
To say more would cross some black lines politically so I'm done.
I don't know all these people who are coming in..but were just simple folk..enjoy..
Do you think a million people are moving to Florida a year?
“Just what the devil is it about Florida?”
Johnny Rocco’s, Key Largo embargo
If you want an actual answer, a big part of it is Florida's long standing and aggressive public records laws. It has long been easy for media outlets to find outlandish arrest stories and, just as importantly, pull crazy looking mug shots, so the crazy stories are easy to find an follow up on here. And, as someone else mentioned, Florida man is very often a transplant from out of state.
Still, the Florida man stereotype is definitely based on truth...
Yep, it’s an old story. Been there, done that, personally. Like KR says, I don’t have a problem with ———, I have a problem with the police.
IMPORTANT: Treat everyone here with respect, no matter how difficult!

cant wait to we move to the swamp soon !!
You have to admit, baggies of meth are much easier to plant on people than the guns and knives that cops have traditionally used.
We had a neighbor up here in Ohio that was born and raised in Florida. People would ask him where he is from, he would say "Florida". The would ask if he was native - born and raised there. He would say "Yes! One of six!"
I'll fire up my wood chipper!
My brother was hot to move to Florida but has since changed his mind. My only experience of FL is two trips to Disney and one lost week end in Miami Beach.
