Just want to take a moment to recognize the heaviest Telecaster I've ever held in my entire life...

    The 1997 American Standard

    This is one heavy MF'er.

    That is all

Probably been done before, but it would be interesting to find out who here on this forum has the heaviest factory tele.

My syrupy poly coated MIM FSR weighs in at 8.5 lbs. just to throw in as a starter. Can't imagine one heavier.

I don't have a very accurate scale, but resting it on my leg hurts ha! My bathroom scale says around 9, but it's an older analog one.

Strange how we used to think that heavy guitars were cool.

My 80's Tokai George Harrison "Rosie" is SLIGHTLY lighter, but feels better to me. It's strange how a few ounces can make such a huge difference.

It is and it sounds amazing. Build quality is fantastic. Maybe I just need to do some pushups

Those little digital scales you get for weighing luggage are good for this. Just slip the loop over the tuners.

Just weigh yourself holding it, then weigh without it. Do the math and there's the Tele weight.

My Triple Tele was 9 pounds and a few grams over 9 ounces.

My '74 Tele Deluxe was just over 11 pounds.

I've also owned a '78 Strat that was 11 plus pounds.

That looks like 9 1/2 pounds to me. The other colors would be heavier.

I went and bought a digital and analog luggage scale from my local wally world. The digital is jumpy and hard to get a solid reading. But it fell between 8.25 - 8.80 usually on the higher side.

The analog hit at just under 9, but who knows how accurate that is as well.

I bought a tele with 2 P90s once without getting to hold it or play it.
11 pounds 2 oz! It didn't stay with me very long.

Shoot, I can't remember. Had to be 10 years ago? I couldn't get rid of that one fast enough. Fortunately, some local young muscle bound guy liked it and bought it.
