I have a set of "Keystones" and have come close to upgrading to "Micro-coils" or the L200 + L290 set but I just can't make myself do it. I guess I'll need to buy another Tele....but you never know, I might surprise myself.
Is the L290 and the L200 together a good rhythmn tone or is the L290 over bearing?.....(if that makes any sense).

I would say yes, they sound good together. I would not say the L290 hogs the show in the middle position.

Mark, did you consider trying the 5-way Tele wiring? Some very interesting and quite usable tones.

I thought about it but I'll leave that for another day.

And a complete pain in the a$$ on a live gig when you have to be at the right place, right time with a high intensity group.

Miss the proper position and you may have to kiss your lead good-bye.

I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of the neck L-200TN, I put them in all 3 of my telecasters. I have regular keystone pickups in the bridges tho. These 2 types are the perfect combo for me.

Could be tricky initially, but you get used to a 5 way pretty quick.........plenty of Strat players around not having problems. I've moved from Strats to Teles, and love the simplicity. I'm even learning that the the volume and tone controls actually do something
