Just pulled the guard and poker chip off of my 2014 Melody Maker Les Paul. Feels good man.

This guitar looks a lot cooler raw and stripped down. Don't know why I had to own it for years before realizing that.

Who else likes naked Les Pauls?

I popped the chip off my special DC last week. Definitely looks cleaner.

I’ve never seen a 2014 Melody Maker w/a guard. Love that guitar, great neck, great weight. Killer tone.
    Love mine.

The major drawback of not posting from a phone or even owning a smartphone, unfortunately! Sorry!

Yeah, I bought mine used and the previous owner put one on it. I didn't mind it for a while, but it feels much better now. And yes, it is a killer guitar that I will never part with.

Ahhhh... my kind of group! I make a comment in another forum that I had removed my poker chip from my Les Paul Studio and I liked it better! ...never saw so many posts of the unspeakable crime I committed!

Where do you get one of those small rhythm/lead washers, Sasquatch? I need at least one of those.

Looks a little like a Hell Parts/Hell Guitars poker chip to me. They do neat stuff.

How will you know when you’re playing “treble”?

I added a black guard and reflector knobs on my TV yellow MM about 5 years ago because it just looked too naked....just too much yellow. But damn, it sounds incredible.

I guess maybe I could see that reasoning with TV Yellow. I've got the Charcoal finish and it looks like a dangerous sports car stripped down.

I have a Special, 2HB, with guard. Kinda wish it had come without. Too much darkness but I don't know what to do about the screw holes.
Already installed chrome pu rings and amber knobs. Anybody got a line on a transparent pg? 20170223_055254.jpg
Coco is a most excellent guitar, btw, and my wife's favorite.

I replaced the black guard on my LP with a clear one.

I'm not a fan of unnecessary plastic on my guitars, good on ya'!
