Precision Guitar Kits are good quality. I've got a black limbs SG Jr glued up with a light shellac coat waiting to be completed.

Is a matter of probability…
I think this:

With a pair of these Rio Grandes:

Would be a lot of fun. I have so many guitars that need work on them though….

Please give us a photo chronicled tour of the build!!!

Laminated top semi hollows are one of the most difficult guitars for a home builder to do, the Precision kit makes it possible. Take your time, finish it well and show us the results.

I ordered an ES335 kit last week from Precision from the clearance rack and it arrived yesterday. Can't wait to get started. I've ordered most of the parts and supplies. This one is a 4A Flame Maple top and back, mahogany neck, white binding, rosewood fingerboard and dots.

I ordered the ES335 with a roasted Spruce top and back, a Maple center block like the vintage 335s, Black Korina neck, Ebony fretboard and headstock face, block inlays, stainless steel frets and cream binding.

I have (scratch) built a couple of semi hollows and a couple of full hollows. There are some tricks with regards to neck set, finishing wiring in and out of the guitar, finish, and general setup. Please feel free to ask, it might make things a little simpler.

ps - my understanding is that Precision kits are a big cut above the usual stuff out of the Pacific Rim (Precision is in British Columbia I think). They wisely don't provide hardware so you don't have to throw away and replace it. I'll be very interested in feedback as you assemble these.
