My first concert was The Cure Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me tour at Cobo Arena. I stopped listening to them after Disintegration. I still love me some old Cure.
This is the 1 band on my bucket list to see live. I am so jealous. I would have loved to have seen the Trilogy shows. The Cure is one of my top favorite bands ever- easily top 3 and in my pantheon of greatness. I think Disintegration is one of the best guitar albums of all time (just listen to all that dripping chorus and delay through some great headphones and you'll see), and that Just Like Heaven is the most perfect pop song ever written. Ever.
But they're also on my bucket list since I've never seen them live. I had a chance back in college in '93, but I let it slip away thinking I'd get another chance soon after. Fast forward 30 years and I was beginning to worry that it would never happen. Then two days ago I got a Facebook notification of tickets going on sale today- I didn't even know they were on tour! So, today my buddy went on and got tickets for the Tampa show for a group of us.
Man, I was as giddy as can be when he told me we had tickets. I can't remember the last time I was genuinely this excited to see a show (or really for anything)! As a middle-age guy, my emotions tend to be pretty blah- it's great to feel that sense of pure joy once in a while. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!
Anybody else out there going to see the Cure on this tour (or have seen them already)? Or feeling psyched to see one of your all time favorites soon?

Oh yea, I would have loved to see the Trilogy show, too. I have it on DVD, but I'm still excited to see what they play! This is the 1 band on my bucket list to see live. I am so jealous. I would have loved to have seen the Trilogy shows.
Yeah, Robert Smith has been the person to take on Ticketmaster and their practices.Better yet, there's a recent tweet from The Cure re Ticketmaster & rebates for fans that have been skinned on previous tix.
I don't understand the details, but appreciate the effort.
