Okay a few months back I bought a Gibson LP Jr. Maestro at a yard sale for $20. Since the C-19 thing I seem to be at home more and looking for tings to do when not working. Well this Jr. been sitting in the corner screaming for an up grade so I made it into a Jr. special.
So out comes the router and torn into the body to add an extra HB cavity, installed a three way switch and some new Humbuckers cut the pick guard rewired and holly crap this baby is bad.
I WAS thinking of giving it to my nephew for a beginners guitar but this $20 plays like a $300 guitar.
I will give it to him after I play the crap out of it but if any of you guys fine one of these on eBay or CL you might want to give it an upgrade, its actuly not bad. Also keeps you off the streets and out of the bars.
I am looking for a sunburst one now, let me know if you have one, it will get a HB and a Telly neck pickup with a 4 way switch.
    Cheers

Just to clarify: when you say its "bad", you actually mean "good", right? :p

Yes, that's confusing me too! Does that then mean that "not bad" actually means not good?

It is a nice color and it does play very nicely, the HB are out of an older Epiphone LP I had from years ago. This guitar now was well worth the effort.
    Cheers

I love these projects- upgrading cheap, readily available guitars. It shows that you don't have to spend a bunch of money to get a fun guitar.

I believe you hit the nail one the head, cheap and plays as good as SOME high end guitars.

    Have fun
