I liked it and thought it was an ok book. Fender now moves so fast that you’d need another supplemental chapter just to keep up with their ever changing and of course improved models. But the book was informative and to me was a great supplement for “The Stratocaster Chronicles” which I read a few years back. There were some nice pics and lots of info on players.

I’m not a builder just a player and i play what feels and sounds good to me so the lack of a lot of technical jargon didn't bug me like some online reviews I’ve seen. There was some minor technical information but it did not get into the weeds. I did like the players history perspective.
With that being said I know that Nacho wrote the be all end all book and I wish it were more available and affordable. I just wanted something cheap and informative and I got that in this book. Ya gotta love Amazon.

Is it the duchoissoir one or the tony bacon one. Another are great. Tony bacons is more drool whereas duchossoir is more about the technicals? But lots of drool there too.

How much did it weigh? Was it the first edition, or a reissue? Printed in the US?

    :D

Ha ha, haven't weighed it but it is a US second edition. Not collectable but informative.

Is the laminated cover clear, or vintage tinted?

I have a copy of the A.R. Duchossoir book from when it first came out. About five years ago, I heard Albert Lee at a local concert. It never occurred to me that he would come out to the lobby after the show for autographs and general mingling so I missed a wonderful chance to have him sign my copy. He's not just a fantastic player but genuinely down to earth.

I think I could now own a '59 Les Paul, had I not spent it on almost every guitar/ amp book ( exaggeration) ever made!

I think I maybe started in the late 1980's with Tom Wheeler's American Guitars, and another, similar, and then the floodgates opened.

I think it was a carryover from my fascination in the mid 1970's ( I'm just starting to play...) , going into a music store, seeing a MONTHY magazine, Guitar Player, that was only about guitars and players!

So later, books about the Tele, Strat, Tube Amps, Martins, LP's - mind blowing and must haves!
