I sold a PRS singlecut standard s2 and my AMERICAN Original 50s tele so I could get a silver sky.

ordered it but it was on back order

a few weeks later my friend gets one so I go to play it. Didn’t like it. AHGHHH!

having over 2500.00 to spend I went shopping.

two days ago I picked up a 2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard from wildwood. It was used but still had the plastic on it.

having left over money and no teles in my life, I decided to sell a squier strat to supplement my left over funds.

tonight I just ordered an open box Vintera 50s tele in sonic blue.
Have just enough left over I can get new pickups if needed.

    pix when it gets here

I think it will be close to the AO I had. Obviously quality won’t be the same, but similar feel neck wise.
Might even get some pure vintage 52’s

What did you think of the AO 50s tele? I returned mine and got a Jimmy Page mirror tele, which I love. Now I’m thinking of getting a 70th anniversary Broadcaster, which I’d assume would have the same feel as the AO.

And my OH thinks I'm peculiar for shopping for a Strat while my Tele is still getting refinned! Nice Lester. Looking forward to Tele pics.

I LOVED the AO50! Best tele ever made. Custom shop quality through and through. Hated getting rid of it, but I had no choice if I was to get a silver sky.

inhave heard time and again that it’s “not a strat.” That there’s something magical about them and how they are incredible. It felt JUST like every strat I’ve ever played. Didn’t even feel like a PRS to me, which is a shame. The pickups seem to be exact replicas (to my ears) of the fender pure vintage 65’s I have in a squier classic vibe. I wasn’t going to drop 2500 on a guitar that was disappointing in any way.
