Mine has shipped, with tracking #, and is on the move!
Guangzhou to NY in seven days. That's either a fast boat, or a slow airplane.
    It's in Springfield MA today.
    Suspense!

Is it a guitar? A tiny model of a guitar? A bottle of handsanitizer? Whaaaat?

Good luck, the seller's feedback isn't the greatest, but not all bad :

It's looking like a post mortem over on Talk Bass. Prepare for refund claims. Shame, I'd much rather have the bass

I see they're arguing about "fraud" vs "mail fraud". I have to wonder, since these person(s) use ebay and online services, if it isn't "wire fraud" which I think is more serious?

    Sorry to hear this.

I got hit on this a while back on the guitar neck deal of the century through Walmart for like $5 each. I bought a pair of necks and was awaiting my delivery. I had tracking numbers and was waiting in anticipation.

I did receive a package but it was a pull string baby toy, not a guitar neck.

I called Walmart and they promptly refunded my money, but I wonder what happened to Wal Mart's money they paid the seller? I am guessing that company folded and Wal Mart won't get their money back from the supplier, which in turn is going to make my coffee, strawberries and toilet paper at Wal Mart get a little more expensive.

So as we suspected, it was a scam.
My "package" was marked as delivered, to some place in CT. I live in OR.

So I am following the Ebay process of asking the seller for a refund, which I know he will ignore, before I can actually report it to Ebay.

So I'll eventually get my twenty bucks back. But this guy will be keeping all of the money he stole, and eBay will pay it out.

Blah. I was looking forward to a crappy bass.

What's weird with my China order is that it's still in China and I ordered before people who have reported delivery to the wrong location. I wonder if Robhe the scammer stole tracking from another scammer.

I also wonder how they're obtaining valid tracking numbers to use that are close enough to the correct dates. Do they work for a shipper and just grab a bunch of the off packages on a pallet to use?

Man, as cynical as I am I can't conjure up any schadenfreude whatsoever. That just sucks. Nobody deserves to be scammed. Doesn't matter if it's $5 or $5000. It ain't right. I hope at least Ebay is willing to recover costs to everyone who purchased.

As skeptical as I was about this, I always love to be pleasantly surprised. It would have been really cool if everyone got the bass in the end.:(

We should be able to given the multiple layers of buyer protection offered. I certainly wouldn't have jumped on this if it was listed on Wish, Alibaba or the like.

I have gotten some very good closeout and overstock online deals in the past so I was hoping that this would be similar, but, unfortunately, it was a scam.

Well, at least on this thread a few have expressed the price was low enough to be low risk. But still... It's the principle of the thing. Very good there is some buyer protection!

Noticed my link to a tracking number was actually a browser hijack. Guess my your package has been shipped notification is really a ha ha gotcha notification. Fortunately I didn't click the link.

It's really not that difficult to go on the dark web and buy a list of tracking numbers or ebay accounts from a hacker for a few bucks.... if you consider the scammers sales were close to 2000 sales thats like $36,000 before ebay fees... even criminals will spend money to make money

Maybe in the future we can all learn from this and alert moderators of threads like this to get locked or removed, because all this did was score more $ for the scammer. They LOVE that this "deal" was shared with potentially hundreds of people.

I know no harm was intended but all this thread did was help the bad guys.
