I have 3 5-watt amps and 2 cabs. I haven't been happy with any of them. I've been looking at deluxes: tweeds, browns, blacks. All clones from small builders. I also saw a Victoria regal ii I was really jonesing for. But everything was just enough over a grand that I didn't pull the switch.

Then a deal fell into my lap. Samamp vac 45. The price was too good to pass up. So, starting tomorrow I'll be checking the shipping 3 times a day until it gets here.

By the way, it's as green as Kermit's ..... (you can guess). Lol

I don't know exactly what a Samamp vac 45 is (gonna look online) but, Congrats! and I hope you like it.

Be careful with the outer packaging and wipe it down before opening if you can!

I think the current recommended procedure is to have the delivery person put it in your garage or backyard shed, and leave it alone (don't even go look at it) for 14 days. Man!.....talk about anticipation! ;)

I have a can of lysol and an hour. Lol
Should be good on the inside!

Oh yea. It's very green. Lol
I kept looking for a bad review and only found great ones. So I bit.

A Fender channel and a Marshall that I'll never use. At 45 watts I should be covered unless I play with Bam Bam. :D

The weight re-location (to down-low) makes a lot of sense, except one thing that I'd need to learn to work around:
I usually throw random stuff into back of combo - cables, mic, an odd box or two.
With the Sam design, those items would crash down on hot power tubes . . .

I was curious some years back when I heard of this amp and its power scaling/handling via the lightbulbs... reminded me of my dads old Bose speakers that had a light bulb in em when I took a peak inside of it as a kid.

I am interested to know how it sounds thru its various power levels.

I'm interested/curious about preamp tubes. Upon goggling, I found comments on quality, two 6L6s and the unique power scaling arrangement, but nothing about the preamp tubes.

I have absolutely no idea. I saw it had 6L6's and I jumped. I'll look for something with 6V6's later.

I do think it will light your Christmas tree though!
