Lectric XP ebikes are very popular and it will take 7 weeks for them to process and ship. That is fine, the beginning of June, cool.

The bike is a 500amp 48v 20" fat tire adult bike. It can go 28 mph and get a claimed 45 miles to a charge, but that is pedaling hard. I expect 25 to 30 miles with moderate pedaling at 20+mph. I'm 67 and I need that exercise.

I went carless two years ago and I discovered bikes are slow and exhausting, ie ten miles would take 2hrs with a couple short breaks, I can't stand buses as I get motion sickness.

This will make life easier and still be healthy.
    I'm stoked.

Here's a pic, sorry I don't know how to post pics opened.

This seems like a reasonable choice. Where we live is hilly enough and steep enough that riding a bike is much more work than pleasure and I have neighbors who did exactly this gotten an e-bike to maintain exercise without having it be more exhausting than beneficial. Let us know how it worlds out

My cousin is always going on during family zooms about all the hours/miles he put in on his ebike

And I'm always chukling and thinking dude, it's a moped, it has a motor, that'd be like me saying "yep, took the car for a good 50 miles this afternoon"

Moped is a pretty broad term. I will be calling mine an ebike, more to the point I'll be calling my e-bike Lovey, lol.

I almost bought a 50cc 4 stroke, no need to register or buy insurance. But also restricted in where it can be rode, no pedestrian or bike trails, no sidewalks, with the e-bike that is all fine.

And all my research says the ebike costs less than a dime to recharge. I was shocked so I researched it again, I called a Trek bikes they store andsaid it would only cost a nickel. I haven't heard different.

The biggest hills in my area are the overpasses, Sonoma county is pretty flat in its most populated areas, due to being an ancient dried lake bed. Luther Burbank called it the most beautiful place in the world and built his home and experimental gardens there in Santa Rosa.

I'm missing something here, I don't get the joke. Sorry

She's riding a bike with high heels? That's funny.

Wife won a Rad ebike, so I had to buy one to keep up. They are a whole lotta fun. I've always had bikes, and she didn't want to figure out shifting, and that really limited her riding. Now, she loves to ride, and we frequently do 15 plus miles on local bike paths and quiet streets. We are looking forward to riding some of the many Rails to Trails paths in the NW this summer. She is 67, and I am 78.

That's so cool. The Rad has a bigger battery that I could/will upgrade to. Both these bikes are totally upgradable, especially the Lectric. I'll upgrade the handlebars, brakes, battery, seat and suspension maybe. That sounds like a fun ongoing project, the best part of it being that I get to choose the products in an ongoing project, something to do. It'll never replace guitar though.

It is a good selling idea, but a date would be much better.

I'm fine with e-assist bikes in a lot of circumstances including where some I know without cars use them to aid errands and shopping.

See the all bodies on bikes post on being kind but last night..... @blowtorch probably knows the bluffs above Cross Plains. Last night a dude who was surely younger than me did the climb on to the bluff with some help but he could not shake a bunch of guys pedaling the trail loops and that was fun even if mean.
