OMG Junior Brown has done it again! Here he is introducing his new Pedal Guit-Steel guitar.

Such innovation.. can't wait to see Junior live again, hopefully soon.

There is nobody out there like Junior Brown.. catch him when you can.

The volume pedal for his elbow is great.. and I love how his guitar "stick" can rotate up... nobody can play a pedal steel standing up except Junior... all the little details here... Junior is amazing!

And damn funny too when you see him live.

Just had a FB reminder that I saw him one year ago this past weekend. He's a wonder.

I love Junior's playing. That said, I think this is just a step too far; even for Junior. Too many plates to keep spinning all at the same time. Junior having invented the Guitsteel has got the playing of it down to a fine art. This Pedal-Guitsteel has just too much happening that he has to control. Let's not forget that he's got to sing all the songs too. I can't see this being used significantly live.

The first pedal steels were actually stand up consoles. Supposedly, the innovator rigged a coat hanger thru a hole in the peghead, that hooked on the after length of a string, and attached to a susended pedal/board on the floor. Step on the pedal, and it stretched the string. Might have been Emmons.

Well that’s dang cool and about the only guitar advancement of this century!

Took him long enough, how many decades since the guit steel?
Could it be his back was getting tired?
Or he just had to push forward a little more, what all he could do in one set?

I saw that just this morning.....started to post but didn't....glad you did.
I've seen Junior once live, and LOVED it.....with a standup bassist, drummer with snare and brushes, and his wife on acoustic rhythm.
That said, it's Junior's gig, but I'm still partial to the old guit-steel, sans pedals.
I wonder if he can play this new rig and chew gum at the same time? ;););)

I did back in 2017 when he came through. He stuck around after the show for about 45 min. just chatting it up with his fans. Let me get a selfie with him.
Way cool guy and a helluva player.

I thought he was touring with one recently (last couple years)

Then one got stolen, I’m not sure it was ever recovered

That's damn cool and he's a great talent

Can't endorse a man wearing a hat indoors though

If so, it's not from performing. The Guit-steels are played on a stand, not worn.

I’ve seen Junior at the Mystic theater in Petaluma a few times. A fantastic and LOUD show. Never leaves the stage until he has shaken every mitt offered up. He’s a top shelf fella for sure.

    Oh I didn't know that.
Did he never use them on a strap?
Never saw him live and I'm not sure why I thought he wore that rig.
