We had a little rain today so I don't have to worry about the neighbors starting any brush fires around here.
Wish I could say the same. It sprinkled just enough around midday that I ran my wipers on the way to the store. One swipe was plenty.

I hope the people around here get done burning up their money early tonight. New Years Eve wasn't bad enough to bother my dogs, but tonight already sounds like Guadalcanal must have sounded.

My newest fur baby, Buddy the Anatolian Shepherd, is wound kinda tight anyway, and he has been baying and barking nonstop since it commenced. Poor guy.i left the TV and a box fan going to cover the noise a little.

Bodacious!

My plans didn't work out, as something gave me a bad case of indigestion yesterday afternoon, and my fillet of de-salted salt cod hadn't thawed after 12 hours in the fridge. First time I'd bought and used this particular kind of salt cod, so I'll know better next time and will have it today for lunch: pan-fried corn tortilla, guacamole on the tortilla, raw cabbage and cilantro on the guacamole, topped off with the cod and a few shakes of hot sauce. And lotsa cold beer!
