Anyone come across an alternative to the Nocturne Jr. Barnyard old-style Preamp pedal? There's got to be other similar pedals out there that emulate Octal Preamps, but haven't been able to find them.

Thanks.

Dunno, i have two El Pescadoro's though, one i bought new and the other i just got for $195.00 used (barely) off Reverb, if you consider its amazing reverb as a separate pedal (basically is) then at that price, why bother with a counterfeit? Nocturne pedals are something else, they are 1000% worth the money! Just like, my opinion man😏

Chasing tone requires like minds. Tavo is of that mind. A Timmy could be just as good (as in 'good enough'), until it ain't and one is scouring the interwebs for satisfaction. That's why I will never sell my Mystery Brain. He gets 'it' , even if the majority may not.

You’ll probably have to wait until someone develops a BYOC version. I don’t see that type of pedal becoming popular enough for a cheap Chinese knock off.

I specifically was trying to emulate Junior Barnards recorded sound and texture. I think there is a wide berth for octal tube amps and their application honestly. I used my EH-150 and EH-185 to garner the recorded character, as there is no real way with a solid state analog circuit to replace the response and tone of an actual EH150 preamp. I do believe I've come very close, or close enough to not
lug around my amp from 1939. I do wish there was an IR that I could load into my Strymon Iridium though that would give me a field coil 112 :)
