It's all you really need if I had to choose one pedal this would be it

I hosted a Jam at a bar the other night and we needed another amp... I had the Joyo in the truck, threw it up there and the guy sounded great through it! I would wager he and I may have been the only ones who knew he wasn't playing through an amp!

After getting a couple Catalinbred amp emulation pedals, I got a Tech 21 "California" (Mark II). I then subsequently sold off all of my traditional OD/dirt pedals and haven't looked back yet. A Blonde is in my horizon now, but the Joyo family seems like a good way to start out in this type of pedal.

Yes the American sound is very good. AMAZING CLEAN sound. The best clean among the joyos...
And if you turn the voice knob all the way up...my god it's filthy AF.

Here I try different settigs suggested by tech 21 for their Blonde pedal...Check it out!

I've also made a direct input test comparing the sound with what you can get using cab impulses...
Some sounds are nice some others not so much...

So far I have loved mine into a solid state practice amp at home but it sounded not-so-good into my silverface Pro Reverb at a gig. So I'll keep it as a backup if my amp goes down at a gig, and play around with it some more at home and for some recording I'll be doing soon.

I just got one of these. I've been sort of out of the guitar game for a while, just getting back into it.

I use this in front of a practice amp and also for goosing up and improving the sound quality of Amplitube Fender on my computer. It's absolutely perfect for that. The voice knob is so effective at changing the sound from kind of a glassy blackface to a more midrangy tweed sound. I find myself preferring that the Voice control at 2-3:00, with the gain down just to the point of breakup. Tweedy, but not over the top raunchy.

Amplitube Fender is pretty good, but this thing makes it come alive and sound real. This is such a steal at $30. The gain and tone structure are so great, not at all fizzy or ratty like so many solid state gain pedals. It really does sound natural.

I remember when I started playing guitar in the late 90s, $30 couldn't get you anything decent. This is a steal. Makes me want to try out the Vox and Marshall versions too.

I have the Joyo AC Tone pedal that I keep in my bag in case my Vox amp malfunctions. And one day, it did. That cheap $40 pedal saved my arse. I put it after my pedal board in place of my amp, and ran it direct to the board. Sounded fine.

The American Sound is my main tone shaping pedal. At $40, I was amazed at both the quality and variety of tones it produces. Not a one trick pony at all.
Hoping Joyo comes out with version of the Supro Drive!

The Supro Drive has a transformer in it, I doubt any knock off company will recreate it. (Sounds awesome though)

You guys got me convinced. The American Sound sounds better than my RunOffGroove Azabache for Fender tones.

I also have the AC Tone and am really satisfied with it. It'actually on my main board between TC, Strymon and T-Rex pedals - you don't hear the difference in the pricerange....probably buy the AMerican just for comparison.

The American sound is a pretty awesome pedal. I did a bunch of head to head comparison with the Sansamp Blonde. They are very close. I preferred the Joyo--the low end is looser and and it feels a little less stiff than the Blonde, a little more ampy. But it was a small difference

Like the IKEA catalogue, every guitar player should get one of these through the post whether they want it or not; it's a great pedal. And the fact I don't have to lug my amp to a jam but stow this away in the front of my gig bag, and light it up through the PA speaker... just awesome.

I like the California and the American a lot the Vox pedal gets a lot of love but I did not like it for some reason.

The Police are a great band; I love them.

Wonderful little device .I play it with my DV Mark Little Jazz to nicely dirty it up which of course the Little Jazz just doesnt do naturally .Strictly clean ,no overdrive whatsoever . I also have an AC tone but actually havnt really tried it out much .
I play blues and jazz with a Tele and a Gibson Midtown .Both sound great .
