Drool, thoughts? I'm on the hunt for one of these now.
His guitar and fingers are a big part of that.
Probably a nice amp, but...it's not the amp.
I brought a used one home for a weekend trial and it was a nice sounding amp. I just liked my Marshall’s and Fenders a little better. If I was gigging it would be a good versatile amp.
I don't like it......it can't seem to actually play a song.
I owned a different Redplate (Tweedy Drive) for a while. It was quite nice, but the small cabinet didn't do it any favors; it sounded a bit boxy. But in a larger cab it would be excellent IMO.
Yeah I'd buy the head I have plenty of good cabs. The Blackline is my current choice after rifling through the 1st of 2nd wave of Dumble imitators. It's that tone I'm chasing. I have gobs of Marshalls already plus a Fender 68 Custom Deluxe so looking for another tone to add here.
Here's Allen Hinds on one, jump ahead to 4:35. Note he's got the bottom cab mic'd not the Redplate.
Of course naming your amplifier company "Redplate" is kind of like naming your airline "Major Engine Failure".
josh could sound good on a freakin' gdec...i'd have to try it myself.
Well I finally found some guts shot photos...the GAS went 90...80...50...30...0 bummer.
Elvin Bishop was one of the orig users too. !
Good stuff, on par with Two Rock. Nothing shabby about his work.
