Joni has written many terrific songs but nobody else evokes sentimental musings like her.

I've heard this song many times over the years. Funny how it has an insistent meaning with each passing year.

I like Tom Rush's version, also.

Beautiful song, Joni is such a gifted musician.

I'm not sure which song came first
( so I may have it backwards),

but I think I've read that.the inspirational for the 'theme' ( whatever you call it) of " Circle Game" came from Joni hearing Neil Young's " Sugar Mountain " ( an early Neil fave of mine) - another way talented Canadian!

Joni's fabulous album Blue turns 50 this year. 50! Hard to believe.Just listened to it again over the weekend. She has such depth and breadth as a lyricist and composer, and is underrated as a guitarist to boot.

Sorry to be such a gossip.

But I lived with a girl in NYC in the mid 90's, whose college roommate turned out to be the baby Joni gave up.

Can you imagine, being adopted, and looking for your mom, and it turns out to be Joni Mitchell!?
