Listened to a lot of McLaughlin over the years, including this one. Of his solo albums, perhaps my favourite is Belo Horizonte.

Ditto to all that ... well actually, I liked it, and never owned it but my friend down the road does, and a re-hearing is overdue!

I love John's Extropolation lp. So loose and swinging.

The story on this album was Columbia was not happy with John’s Shakti albums sales so they wanted him do do something ”electric”. His heart was really in Shakti at that time. Love those album’s. Haven’t listened to them in years.
