Maybe a hefty request...but anyone have a sense of the lick he's playing at 00:05 and 2:03....I can't figure it out...guessing it's a forward banjo roll type of move played in the G position, third fret position? Thanks!

I’ve watched his instructional video, hosted by Arlen Roth (Hot Licks?) and that was pretty amazing, but this is at least as jaw-dropping. Love his tone too.

At least in terms of the first instructional vid linked above, the 4th note of the run is a D, not a Db and 5th note of the run is a F, not an E

That s not how i would do it.

here is the last part of the lick

    e------------------------------------------------------------------------2-----
    b------------------------------------------------------------0--------1------
    g---2---0h2----5/6---7---5h6--------------------0----2---------2---------
    d---2---0h2----4/5---5---5-------0-------0---3----4---------0-----------
    a-0---0------0------0---0-------0------2----5------------------------------
    e--------------------------------------3------------------------------------

Slowing down johnny s song, and not the cover.

I'm getting one of his lesson sets (Ten Gallon Guitar) for Christmas for myself and can't wait. He's a brilliant player but as a teacher he really shines IMHO. It's pretty easy to pick up the stuff he shows in his lessons and it's all a blast to play :)
