John Lennon Tribute's Franken-Amp

I thought you guys might get a kick out of this.

I saw Gary Gibson; one of the UK's leading John Lennon tribute acts, perform a few nights ago and he was on top form as usual.

I've seen him a number of times now and I am always intrigued by his unique amp and this time I managed to get a few shots of it.



It appears to be the guts of a Silverface Twin Reverb in the shell of a Vox AC30.

It ain't pretty but it sounded great!

I've read several time how Lennon was known for recording from the back of his amp. Maybe this guy is going the extra mile for that Lennon tone!
